Project Narrative
Rooted in Contemporary Indian sensibilities, the home embraces a timeless, earthy aesthetic. Natural materials take center stage—Kota stone flooring in the expansive Living and Dining areas sets a serene foundation, while wood and rattan furniture add texture, warmth, and authenticity. A grand piano, placed prominently, is more than a design element—it marks the fulfilment of a childhood dream and brings music into the soul of the home. The architecture also maintains a strong connection to nature, with each room oriented towards views of a tranquil lake. The ever-changing moods of water—its reflections, ripples, and golden sunsets—bring meditative calm into the living experience.
The Master Bedroom began with an heirloom—her grandmother’s dressing table. This treasured piece informed the materiality and visual tone, transforming the room into a nostalgic yet modern retreat. Adjacent to it, the Study Room defies convention by facing a lush terrace garden, offering natural views that reduce stress and increase focus. With a monochrome palette of black and white tiles offset by wooden elements and Versace curtains, the space finds harmony in contrast.
The son’s room reflects an emerging designer’s spirit, drawing from the bold visual language of Art Deco—Sinchal’s personal favourite. Geometric patterns in PU paint and metallic detailing give the room a striking, sophisticated edge. The Guest Room, affectionately known as the “Green Room,” is defined by green walls and organic elements. Rattan and wood furniture root it in Indian tradition, while hand-painted wardrobe shutters add a personal, artistic layer.
Her mother’s room, on the other hand, is a study in serenity—draped in white, softly lit by reflections from mirrored wardrobe shutters. A triangular dressing table, designed in response to space constraints, became a signature feature that blends function with innovation.
The Den offers a cozy corner for informal gatherings, with carpeted floors that invite one to stretch out and relax. It has become a favourite hangout for her son and his friends. The Terrace, born from clever spatial reallocation, is now a peaceful escape—a place for morning chai, quiet reflection, and connection with the outdoors.
What makes this home truly special is that every piece of furniture has been custom-designed and manufactured in her own unit, Furnitect—where design and craftsmanship come together under one roof.
