The client wanted Courtside to be the first premium sports facility in Raipur, introducing Pickleball courts, Paddle courts, and a temperature-controlled swimming pool. Their goal was not only to create a high-quality sports complex but also a place where people could spend time together outside of play. Along with the courts, they requested supporting spaces such as a café, a sports store, and offices. The entry sequence was to feel open and inviting, allowing free movement with areas to wait, browse, and interact before heading to the courts. The client envisioned Lummina as Raipur’s first true Mediterranean restaurant — a place where dining becomes an experience, not just a meal. The brief was clear: create a destination that captures the spirit of Mediterranean living while feeling rooted and relatable to a local audience. The space needed to be inclusive in its appeal — welcoming families looking for comfort, children needing their own zone, and young diners eager for fresh, experimental experiences. The design language had to strike a duality — aspirational yet approachable, luxurious yet warm, contemporary yet timeless. Programmatic requirements included distinct indoor and outdoor dining areas, a gracious entrance foyer, and a thoughtfully integrated play zone. The clients envisioned a modern farmhouse designed as a personal retreat for hosting intimate parties, celebrations, and social gatherings while maintaining the warmth of a lived-in home. They sought a free-flowing living and dining space that seamlessly opens out to a swimming pool and an expansive lawn capable of accommodating 50 to 80 guests. A key requirement was flexible zoning — the ability to close off the private bedroom wing when needed, allowing the remaining areas to function independently as a rentable venue for day-time events. The brief called for an architecture that felt contemporary yet rooted in nature, blending functionality with a strong spatial identity.
