Sawai Man Mahal
Featured work by Gyanendra Singh Shekhawat · Jaipur · September 2, 2026
Set beside the historic Rambagh Palace in Jaipur, Sawai Man Mahal is a remarkable example of adaptive reuse, where centuries of royal heritage are thoughtfully reinterpreted for contemporary luxury hospitality. Designed by IDEAS under the leadership of Gyanendra Singh Shekhawat, the project celebrates Rajasthan's architectural legacy while introducing the comfort and sophistication expected of a modern Taj property.
Originally established under the patronage of Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II, the palace has evolved through multiple chapters of history—from a modest royal pavilion to one of India's earliest palace hotels. The latest transformation carefully preserves this legacy through interventions that respect the building's original architectural character while enhancing the guest experience.
