Project Narrative
Skyville did not begin with a drawing or a rigid layout- it began with a question: Can a home be bold, quiet, and minimal at the same time? For Karishma Sutaria, founder of K Studio Designs, the answer lay in treating space as an emotional language rather than a purely visual construct. Designed as a pause in time, Skyville unfolds as a modern minimalist home where light, material, and volume work in harmony to create an immersive spatial experience.
Originally a raw, expressionless shell, the residence was transformed over two years through a deeply hands-on design process. From civil modifications to fine interior detailing, every decision was guided by restraint, clarity, and intent. The architecture celebrates softness within volume- allowing materials to whisper rather than dominate- resulting in spaces that feel calm, composed, and deeply personal.
The arrival sequence sets the tone. Granite-clad walls softened by greenery lead into a serene entrance, where a marble mandir with golden glass detailing becomes the first focal point. A sheer gold curtain provides privacy without breaking visual continuity, reflecting the studio’s meticulous approach to spatial layering and comfort.
At the heart of the home lies a double-height living room, bathed in natural light and defined by quiet elegance. A sculptural marble chandelier floats within the volume, gently casting shadows that animate the space. Muted tones, soft curves, and minimal furniture allow the architecture to breathe, while marble-clad walls frame an arched mural, adding depth without excess. Subtle ambient lighting arcs across surfaces, reinforcing a sense of warmth and composure.
Beneath the floating white marble staircase, the dining space unfolds with understated drama. A sleek marble table paired with soft grey upholstered chairs and brass-tipped legs anchors the area, while pendant lights emphasize the verticality. Mirror art enhances the sense of height, and a discreet musical fountain tucked under the staircase introduces a sensory layer- soft sound accompanying everyday rituals.
Each private space reflects individuality within the home’s cohesive language. The son’s bedroom translates his love for cricket into symbolic design rather than theme-based décor, using restrained colours and bold accents. The kitchen is a study in precision, anchored by a curved marble island, blue subway tiles, ribbed glass cabinetry, and integrated greenery.
The parents’ bedroom balances white with muted greys, blush pinks, and warm taupes, while the master suite layers sage tones, textured walls, sculptural lighting, and curved forms to create moments of quiet luxury. The media room, darker and cocooned, contrasts the rest of the home with plush finishes and controlled lighting.
Throughout Skyville, expansive windows, balconies, and transitions allow natural light to sculpt space. With Italian marble, soft stone, wood, glass, and subtle textures, the home emerges as a mindful composition- an architectural journey defined by light, silence, and intention.
