The Leela Palace

Nestled against the majestic Aravalli Hills, The Leela Palace Jaipur reinterprets the grandeur of Rajputana architecture through a contemporary lens, creating a hospitality destination where heritage, craftsmanship, and luxury exist in perfect harmony. Designed by IDEAS under the leadership of Gyanendra Singh Shekhawat, the project draws deeply from Jaipur's rich architectural vocabulary while responding thoughtfully to the expectations of modern luxury travellers.
Inspired by the spatial planning of Jaipur's historic walled city, the hotel is organised around a monumental central palace block that houses the principal public spaces, including specialty dining, a bar, banquet facilities, and pre-function areas. Luxury villas extend from this central core through an intricately detailed colonnade, creating a sequence of courtyards, landscaped gardens, and intimate open spaces that balance privacy with communal experiences.
Climate-responsive design plays a defining role throughout the project. Traditional passive cooling strategies—including shaded courtyards, perforated jaalis, water features, and extensive landscaping—help moderate Jaipur's hot, dry climate while enhancing guest comfort. A grand communal swimming pool forms the heart of the development, separating public and private zones while creating a tranquil focal point surrounded by secluded alcoves and private pools.
The architectural language celebrates timeless symmetry and proportion. White marble façades are punctuated by elegant chhatris, jharokhas, arches, and silver domes, while floral and geometric motifs enrich murals, fountains, doorways, and ornamental details. A restrained palette of blue, gold, and stone lends the property an unmistakable regal identity without overwhelming the architecture.
Spread across 11 acres of lush greenery, The Leela Palace Jaipur successfully transforms traditional architectural principles into a refined contemporary hospitality experience. Rather than replicating history, it interprets it with sensitivity—creating an immersive environment where regional identity, passive environmental strategies, artisanal craftsmanship, and modern luxury converge to offer guests an authentic yet elevated experience rooted in the cultural legacy of Rajasthan.
