Project Narrative
From the outset, the house balances bold materiality with restraint. A third of the elevation is clad in red Agra stone, grounding the structure in earthy richness, while the upper levels are sheathed in crisp white, curving softly around the built form. These curves—seen in ceiling motifs, 3D wall treatments, and even custom lighting—offer a fluidity that counters the typical rigidity of large-scale homes, lending a meditative calm to the spaces within.
Thoughtful spatial planning ensures both privacy and openness. The site, open on three sides, allowed the architects to play with light and movement, using vertical screens and lush landscape buffers to invite natural ventilation while creating quiet enclosures. The southern edge houses a linear service passage, tucked discreetly to maintain the integrity of the living zones. Meanwhile, the western expanse accommodates parking and service functions without disturbing the landscape rhythm.
Inside, the house unfolds in layers. A soaring double-height drawing room becomes the emotional heart of the home, its celestial-inspired feature wall narrating the transition from day to dusk. Birds and dragonflies, rendered in textile art, return to their forest—a metaphor for the family’s own homecoming. A suspended ceiling with soft lighting mimics moonlight, adding a dreamlike quality to the space. Adjacent is a more intimate living area, where tactile materials and soft tones offer a cocoon of quietude.
The central staircase becomes a vertical thread connecting varied experiences—its mild steel and wood detailing echoing the home’s design ethos. Sculptural lamps made on site, hand-carved stone reliefs, and bespoke ceilings in passageways ensure that every transition is considered and layered.
Each bedroom is a personal sanctuary, tailored to the occupant’s taste and stage of life. Children’s rooms inspire wonder with celestial ceilings and pastel geometry, while the nursery balances delicacy with adaptability. The meditation room, carved in serene white with a hibiscus-shaped stone relief, brings spiritual focus to the plan.
On the upper level, the mood shifts—the lounge and spa are bold and sociable, in stark contrast to the rest of the house. The terrace, meanwhile, is a quiet celebration of texture and proportion, where materials like leather-finished granite and white marble form an in-situ carpet pattern that elevates the alfresco experience.
