Villa Iksa

Set on a 1.5-acre site in Alibaug, Villa Iksa is designed as a tropical modern sanctuary where architecture, landscape, and interiors blend seamlessly with nature. The project was envisioned as two homes that remain constantly connected to the outdoors, ensuring that every space opens to courtyards, gardens, waterbodies, or the sky. Inspired by Alibaug’s traditional courtyard houses, which were built to suit the tropical climate and heavy monsoons, the villa reinterprets this concept in a modern way. Landscaped courtyards, Zen gardens, and water features are woven throughout the design, creating smooth transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces. This arrangement encourages both openness and privacy, allowing residents to experience nature from every corner of the home. At the center of the villa is a striking swimming pool surrounded by a large deck on three sides. The pool acts as a social hub where family and friends gather, especially during weekends. Nearby, a multipurpose court offers space for recreation and informal activities. The living room is designed as a glass-enclosed pavilion that overlooks a Zen garden and is surrounded by water, giving the impression that it floats within the landscape. The villa includes six bedrooms and a den, but the main focus is on shared areas such as the living room, dining space, courtyards, and outdoor decks. A long twelve-foot dining table becomes the heart of family meals, enhanced by elegant pendant lighting. Quiet spaces like the den and pool deck provide areas for relaxation. Natural materials such as concrete, basalt, granite, and wood create a balanced and tactile environment. Neutral beige interiors are complemented by greenery, terracotta art, wicker furniture, and custom-made pieces by local craftsmen. Villa Iksa represents refined tropical modernism—simple, warm, and deeply connected to nature.
